Haunting the narrative means that the character’s absence heavily impacts the plot. They’re not present or active in the story when their influence is most strongly felt, whether they’re alive or dead!
we need a specific term for when someone has immersed themselves in a real or imagined counterculture and lost all awareness whatsoever of mainstream culture and so end up saying extremely popular and normative positions like they’re being rebellious

Yes I did in fact post the wrong version of this at first, leave me alone it’s hard to tell the difference.. im just a girl. the quality and detail is lost so I had to post close ups anyway. this took like 36 hours in total and while I most certainly took have added more detail physically, mentally I couldn’t. this is a redraw of a redraw (both are on my account if you look back). I’ve always loved Dahlia so much so I’m glad that she’s the character I have officially spent the most amount of time ever drawing.
Anyway, there’s a lot of symbolism shit in here so I’m just gonna go through and point it out. Dahlias mole is a magatama. Iris is literally Dahlias iris. There’s a cross in Dahlias eye that has pure white. The glass panes in the back have magatamas but you can barely see that. The glass pane just next to Dahlias visible eye is an Iris flower. Also, Everytime I draw this I can’t decide if its Iris or its Dahlia so it’s whatever twin you want it to be, I just described it as Dahlia because.. physically that’s what she looks like. I used the point 1 digital art brush on ibis paint x for this on my shitty slow phone so this took so long! hope someone enjoys it!

this is a project i’ve been working on since october 2022. using vintage address books, i draw/collage something that starts with the letter on the tab for that page! this was my first book, and since then i’ve done three total, currently working on my fourth! i usually post pages individually on my insta/twitter as i go, and when i finish, i make a closure with some kind of string and a bead. :)
